About DansFlava Studios =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= DansFlava is about variety, about choices, about individuality and about identity. We believe that dance is an exploration and expression of self. As instructors, we seek to encourage our students to explore and grow within the dance and, through it, to explore their own unique individuality, their ‘flava’. No matter your age, your gender or your personality, we want our students to find the dancer in them and to enjoy their journey of discovery. As performers, we seek to entertain and to bring, to our audience, our love and respect for the beauty of the dance and its music. Through our passion and professionalism, we want to draw you in and, for a brief moment, to lose yourselves in our performances. Jerinne =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jerinne has been dancing for almost her whole life. Ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, swing, salsa, she has danced them all. She has performed in numerous events including the Uniquely Singapore launch and the International Indian Film Academy 2004 awards show held in Singapore. She has also performed at the West Coast Salsa Congresses of 2002 and 2005 as well as in the Sydney Salsa Congress 2007, Malaysian Salsa Festival 2006 & 2007, Singapore International Salsa Festival 2006 & 2007, 1st Taipei Salsa Festival, 2nd Salsa Fiesta de Indonesia 2008 and, most recently, the 4th Salsa India Festival 2008 and the 3rd Malaysian Salsa Festival 2008. Jerinne has been teaching dance since 1997. Her training and natural teaching ability makes her a much respected teacher who is able to draw out the best in her students. She was also one of the featured instructors at the 2nd Singapore International Salsa Festival 2007, 1st Taipei Salsa Festival 2007, 2nd Salsa Fiesta de Indonesia 2008, the 4th Salsa India Festival 2008 and the 3rd Malaysian Salsa Festival 2008. Jerinne is also an accomplished choreographer, having choreographed several items. She was the co-choreographer for the winning choreography in the Her World Salsa Competition 2003 as well as one of the choreographers for the Salsa Fanatico performing company, where she is a founding member. Jason =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jason has been involved in Salsa since 2000, when he took his first class. He has not looked back since. He has performed not only in Singapore but also at Salsa Congresses and Festivals overseas including the Sydney Salsa Congress 2007 and twice at the prestigious West Coast Salsa Congresses of 2002 and 2005 in Los Angeles, USA. He is one of the founding members of the Salsa Fanatico performing company. He has a style uniquely his own that has been described by many as musical and fun to dance with. Jason has been teaching Salsa since 2002 and the years of experience shows. His classes are fun, yet detailed, with the focus firmly on ensuring his students not only enjoy the class but also come away with being able to dance. Besides teaching and performing, most recently at the 2nd Singapore International Salsa Festival 2007, 1st Taipei Salsa Festival 2007, 2nd Salsa Fiesta de Indonesia 2008, the 4th Salsa India Festival 2008 and the 3rd Malaysian Salsa Festival 2008. Jason is also an accomplished Salsa DJ, having DJ-ed at many Salsa Festivals and Congresses in the region.
