Dave & Zoe

Dave Paris teaches and performs a unique blend of aerial acrobatics, New York style salsa dancing and Afro-Cuban folkloric dance with his dance partner Zoë Klein. He is the producer of two instructional video series entitled "Salsa Lift and Aerials" and "The Salsa Guide." He has taught at all the major salsa congresses around the world, including Holland, Spain, Italy, Germany, England, China, Korea, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

In New York City, Dave is the first to create a Latin movement video for people of non-Latin heritage. He studied 7 years under the two most internationally acclaimed salsa dancing schools: the Eddie Torres system and the Razzmtazz system. Dave leads popular workshops for all levels of salsa, lifts and tricks, Latin hustle, merengue, and cha cha. Dave trains in ballet, Pilates, extreme dancing, circus partner doubles, and handstands. Dave is a native to Brooklyn and also teaches 7th grade English at Middle School 88. The past 2 years he has formed a kids salsa dance company at MS88. The classes combine a rigorous academic program with salsa dancing and acrobatic training.

Zoë Klein has been designing lights, dancing, and performing acrobatics in NYC since graduating Hampshire College 2001. Zoë has show work at WAX, Dixon Place, WOW Café, BAX and Danspace Project. She trained handstands, trapeze, and partner balancing acrobatics privately with LAVA (an all women's acrobatic company), and was a co-founding member of the circus/theater company KIRKOS. She explored Olympic Doubles at the San Francisco Circus School, and dabbled in flying trapeze at Trapeze School NY.

Zoë's adoption from Colombia has had her maintain a strong cultural interest in Caribbean history and culture, particularly Afro-Cuban dance and Cuban Rumba. In summer 2000, she attended an intensive Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and drum workshop at Nacional Escuela Del Arte, Havana Cuba. Zoë and Dave are learning how to merge all their artistic backgrounds, performing and teaching for their 2005 August tour in Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. Zoë was 5 years Tech Director at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, 3 years at Danspace Project and guest teaches light design for Berkeley Carroll as an Alumn. Zoë is ecstatic that she and Dave will be training 3 months this summer with Trix Circus, Gold Coast, Australia.
