Downtown East, formerly called NTUC Lifestyle World, is located next to Pasir Ris Park and is a 10-minute drive from Changi International Airport. Occupying 14. 7 hectares, it was officially opened on 5 November 2000 after being redeveloped at a cost of S$30 million. In the year 2003, a further S$23 million was pumped in to develop Singapore's largest water theme park Wild Wild Wet. Costa Sands Resort (Downtown East)
Attracting an annual visitorship of 2.5 million visitors, Costa Sands Resort (Downtown East) is the popular choice holiday destination for Singaporeans. The latest addition, an elevated five-lane 50 metre swimming pool and children's pool, a first in Singapore with its side and bottom see through panels allow resort guests to wave to their family members when having fun swimming. Visitors are also spoilt for choice at the adjacent Downtown East - a food paradise offering more than 40 food and beverage and entertainment outlets ranging from a food court, fast food joints, specialty restaurants to a satay club.

ESCAPE Theme Park, Singapore's first world-class theme park, which features 16 thrilling rides is only a stone throw away. The 28-lane Pasir Ris Bowl within Downtown East also offers visitors the added excitement of bowling with their families and friends.
Wild Wild Wet is the largest water theme park in Singapore. The key attraction among the park's rides is the ular-lah, the first raft slide in South East Asia. Each raft seats six people and you can expect high banked corners and 360 degree spins as you race to the finish line. Other rides include the sidewinder, a 11m high valley-shaped slide and waterworks, consisting of two enclosed curvy tube slides. For the less adventurous, there are rides like The Tsunami Wave Pool or The Shiok River. Costa Sands Resort (Downtown East) is also available for corporate and social retreats. To make every stay comfortable, the resort has 360 fully air-conditioned chalets with attached bathrooms, twin beds, televisions, refrigerators and warm water flasks. Guests can choose from two different categories of chalets, along with an option to rent barbecue pits with each stay.
